THE PLAY
In 2007 the Two-Wheeler Productions smash hit The King of Fifteen Island won the Theatre Ste-Catherine Award for most promising English-language company at the Fringe. This year the company makes good on that promise with the premiere of its newest work, a claustrophobic dark comedy about bees, beekeepers, and survival.

The bees are dying. In desperation, Burt has brought his dwindling honeybee population inside for the winter, barricading himself, his wife Wendy, and their few remaining bees inside their small farmhouse ... and waiting for spring.

The play is inspired by last year's advent of Colony Collapse Disorder, the phenomenon which has mysteriously ravaged the global honeybee population and is threatening the foundations of our entire agricultural system. This sudden disappearance of the honeybee has been generally accepted by scientists and farmers alike as an alarming harbinger of things to come.

HISTORY AND MANDATE ::

Two-Wheeler Productions was created in 2006 by writer/director Jeremy Taylor and actor/composer Andy Trithardt. The company acts as a vehicle for the creation of collaborative new works of theatre, which are aesthetically striking but technically simple, and which challenge theatrical forms and social principles.
